Follow Friday – September 21, 2012

This week for Follow Friday I thought I’d do something a bit different. Rather than post blogs I think you should check out, I thought FaceBook pages and groups would be a nice change of pace. Here are some FaceBook pages and groups that may help you with yourresearch.

GROUPS

Genealogy Bloggers – This is a closed group but you can ask to be admitted. In this group, bloggers talk about their research issues, brick walls, websites they’ve found useful and their own blog posts.

International Society of Family History Writers and Editors – ISFHWE is a group that supports and promotes genealogical writers and editors. For full benefits, check out their membership information on their website.

PAGES

The In-Depth Genealogist – The FaceBook presence of The In-Depth Genealogist which offers many resources for the family historian.

Check out the various FamilySearch sponsored pages on FaceBook that deal with specific states. Here are a couple. Just search for the specific state you need assistance with under Pages to locate others.

Do you have any to add? Please list them in the comments below.

Wisdom Wednesday – Share Your 1940 Census Wisdom

The 1940 census was released a month ago today. Have you located some of your family? Have you used Sort Your Story to organize and document this information? How did you enter the information? Simply the facts or did you elaborate and tell a story with the document information?

Do you use Sort Your Story to create family stories or books? What has your experience been?

Please share your experiences with us. We’d love to know how you are using Sort Your Story to document your family’s history!
